Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Manager to lead a supported accommodation service for young people aged 16 and older. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care that promotes independence, well-being, and positive outcomes for young people. The Registered Manager will oversee all aspects of service management, compliance, safeguarding, and staff development in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the Ofsted Registered Manager, ensuring full compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Lead the service in line with the Statement of Purpose, embedding the organisation’s vision, values, and aims.
- Provide leadership, motivation, and support to staff, fostering a positive and professional team culture.
- Recruit, induct, supervise, and develop staff to ensure a skilled and motivated workforce.
- Monitor staff performance, conduct appraisals, and manage conduct or capability issues.
- Manage the service budget efficiently, ensuring resources are allocated appropriately.
- Develop workforce plans to address staffing capacity, training needs, and succession planning.
- Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion within the team and service.
- Ensure the service maintains a ‘Good’ or above rating with Ofsted and other regulatory bodies.
- Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring safeguarding policies are robust and staff are trained.
- Oversee risk assessments for young people and the environment, updating them regularly.
- Maintain accurate records, including safeguarding concerns, incident logs, and staff files.
- Lead on support planning, working with young people, social workers, and external agencies to develop personalised pathways.
- Facilitate young people's participation in decision-making and promote independence skills.
- Prepare the service for inspections, ensuring all documentation and evidence of good practice are up to date.
- Use data and feedback to drive continuous improvement and service development.
Requirements:
- Relevant Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management or willingness to complete within the required timescale.
- Significant experience working with vulnerable young people.
- Strong understanding of Supported Accommodation Regulations and Ofsted’s inspection framework.
- Proven leadership and management skills.
- Excellent safeguarding knowledge and risk management skills.
- Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to promoting independence, equality, and positive outcomes for young people.
Desirable:
- Previous experience as a Registered Manager in children’s homes or supported accommodation.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practice and adolescent development.
- Additional qualifications in social care, housing, or youth work.
