Registered Service Manager (Ofsted)
Location: Thornton Heath, London
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 (plus performance-related bonuses)
Are you passionate about shaping the future of young people? A brand-new supported accommodation service in Thornton Heath is seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Service Manager to lead and develop a 6-bed children's home for 16–17-year-olds with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of building a high-quality provision from the ground up. The home is based on a purpose-built site featuring exceptional facilities including a gym, library, games room, mechanics workshop, and vegetable garden. The goal is to deliver care that meets and exceeds Ofsted standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead, manage, and develop a new team of care staff.

Ensure high-quality care delivery in line with Ofsted requirements and organisational policies.

Develop and oversee care and placement plans.

Maintain professional relationships with external agencies and partners.

Manage budgeting and financial aspects of the home.

Supervise, support, and mentor staff to promote best practice.

Facilitate Ofsted inspections and manage regulatory requirements.

Report regularly to senior leadership and escalate key issues.
What We’re Looking For:

Minimum 2-3 years of management experience in children’s residential or supported accommodation.

Experience with Ofsted inspections.

NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management (or equivalent).

NVQ Level 3 in Caring for Children and Young People (or equivalent).

Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.

A thorough understanding of the Children Act 1989, Care Standards Act 2000, Supported Accommodation Regulations 2023, and all relevant safeguarding protocols.
Additional Information:

35 hours per week, Monday to Friday (flexibility required).

30 days annual leave including bank holidays (with increases based on length of service).

Double pay for bank holiday shifts.
