Job Title: Senior Children's Support Worker
Location: Bristol, Bristol County, UK
Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum (DOE)
Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and dedicated individual to join a residential service in Bristol as a Senior Children's Support Worker. This role involves supporting young people aged 8 to 18 years with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). If you are enthusiastic, resilient, and motivated to make a positive impact on young people's lives, this could be the perfect role for you. Working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, you will help young people develop socially, emotionally, and behaviourally within a safe and caring setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead by example and support the management team during shifts
- Mentor and support new staff members
- Encourage young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their own lives, appropriate to their age
- Maintain a homely, friendly environment within the homes
- Manage challenging behaviours safely and sympathetically
- Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare
- Support young people’s independence and overall well-being
- Ensure a safe environment and keep up-to-date with individual care plans and guidelines
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals such as psychologists
Requirements:
- Experience as a Children's Support Worker or with young people is essential
- Experience within a healthcare or social care setting is essential
- Level 3 NVQ in Children & Young People is essential
- Full driving licence is mandatory due to the nature of the role
