Residential Support Worker

Job Overview
We are seeking dedicated Residential Support Workers to join a specialist care team supporting young people with complex learning disabilities, autism, and severe social communication and behavioural needs. This role is based within a children's home.
You will support young people outside of the school day, during weekends, and in school holidays, helping them develop the life skills needed for adulthood. No prior experience is necessary, as full training, mentoring, and a comprehensive induction are provided.

Salary: £26,951 - £27,976 per year

Retention Bonus: £1,000 total bonus (£250 after 1 month, £250 after 1 year, and £500 after 18 months).

Hours: 37 hours per week on a shift pattern, including weekend work and required sleep-in duties (paid at an additional rate).

Contract: Permanent, Full-time.
Key Responsibilities and Duties

Holistic Support: Support young people within their residential houses, assisting with personal care, meal preparation, shopping, and money handling.

Activity Coordination: Accompany young people on exciting off-site activities and trips to beaches, safari parks, adventure parks, and inclusive cycling sessions.

Progress Monitoring: Work collaboratively with teachers and therapists to assess and monitor the progress of each student.

Physical Intervention: Provide safe and effective physical intervention when necessary, following professional training.

Mentoring: Build trusting relationships with vulnerable young people, offering clear boundaries and choices to help them thrive.
