A leading specialist provider in Bristol is seeking a dedicated and resilient Senior Children's Support Worker to join their dynamic team supporting young people aged 8 to 18 years with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). Key responsibilities include:
- Leading by example and supporting the management team to successfully run shifts in a residential setting in Bristol.
- Mentoring and supporting new staff members to ensure high standards of care.
- Encouraging young people to engage in activities and take responsibility for their social and emotional development.
- Maintaining a safe and nurturing environment that promotes wellbeing and independence.
- Safeguarding the health, safety, and welfare of young people in line with care plans and professional guidelines.
- Dealing effectively with challenging behaviours in a compassionate and safe manner.
- Building positive relationships with staff, parents, social workers, psychologists, and other professionals involved in the young people's lives.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Children's Support Worker or with young people within a social care or healthcare setting.
- Full driving licence (due to the nature of activities involved).
- Level 3 NVQ in Children & Young People (or equivalent qualification).
- Compassionate, motivated, resilient, and committed to making a positive impact.
- Ability to work flexibly across shifts (2 on 4 off rotation).
- Enthusiastic about working in a challenging, but highly rewarding environment in Bristol.
