Job Description:
Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people? We are currently seeking a dedicated Children’s Support Worker to join a reputable and modern residential children’s home in Bodmin. This is an exciting opportunity to support children and teenagers aged 8-16 years old who experience emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).
Key Responsibilities:
- Support young people in developing social, emotional, and behavioural skills within a caring, safe environment.
- Encourage young people to participate in activities and take responsibility suited to their age.
- Maintain a homely, friendly, and nurturing environment.
- Safeguard young people from risks to their health and wellbeing.
- Promote independence and life skills development for each child or young person.
- Deal effectively and sympathetically with challenging behaviours when needed.
- Provide support that encourages positive behavioural change and resilience.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with colleagues, parents, social workers, and other involved professionals.
- Keep up-to-date with individual care plans, guidelines, reward systems, and preferred communication methods.
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience as a Children’s Support Worker or working with young people is desirable but not essential.
- Experience in healthcare or social care setting is advantageous.
- Must hold a full UK driving license, as transporting young people may be required.
- Over the age of 21 and able to commute to Bodmin.
- Passionate about supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties.

- Competitive salary between £31,840 and £34,240 (including sleep shifts)
- Full-time, permanent contract (40 hours per week)
- Shift pattern: (9am – 10pm, sleep, 7am – 9am)
