We are seeking a dedicated Residential Support Worker to join a leading specialist provider at their brand-new Emotional Wellbeing Assessment Home in Hinckley, Leicestershire. This full-time, permanent role offers a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people aged 8-18, helping them develop resilience, confidence, and independence in a nurturing environment.
As a Residential Support Worker in Hinckley, you will be an integral part of a small, supportive team committed to providing short-term placements that focus on understanding and meeting the needs of young people. Your role will involve building trusting relationships, working collaboratively with families and professionals, and creating a safe, welcoming space for those in your care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop nurturing relationships with young people, focusing on their well-being and strengths
- Work closely with families and other professionals to provide holistic support
- Contribute to the daily running of the home, including cooking and cleaning, to ensure a safe environment
- Maintain accurate records and follow safeguarding policies
- Promote a positive, secure, and supportive atmosphere at all times
Requirements:
- The Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or a commitment to achieving it within a set timeframe
- Strong motivation to positively impact young people's lives and build their resilience
- Good understanding of safeguarding procedures for vulnerable children and young people
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-ins
- Relevant experience is desirable but not essential; attitude and willingness to learn are valued most
