Salary: £12.90 - £13.70 per hour
Job Description:
We are seeking caring, motivated, and resilient individuals to join our team as a Residential Support Worker in Hythe. This role offers an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people with learning disabilities, as well as social, emotional, and behavioural needs. The Residential Support Worker role in Hythe is ideal for those who are passionate about providing compassionate care and support in a nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support children and young people in managing daily routines, including education, domestic tasks, and emotional well-being
- Act as a safeguarding champion by noticing, reporting, and acting on concerns in line with strict safeguarding policies
- Motivate young people to express themselves and participate in activities that promote personal growth
- Collaborate with colleagues, families, and external professionals to deliver high-quality care
- Provide a patient, trusting presence for children who may be emotionally vulnerable or challenging
Requirements:
- Must be 21 years of age or older to comply with National Minimum Standards for Children’s Homes
- A nurturing, patient approach with resilience to handle emotional and behavioural challenges
- Flexibility to work 15-hour shifts and complete sleep-ins as required
- Previous care experience is a bonus but not essential; full training is provided
- NVQ Level 3 in Children & Young People’s Workforce (or equivalent) is desirable but not mandatory
- Reliable commute to Hythe
- Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check and compulsory screening
