Job Description:
Our client, a leading specialist provider, is seeking a dedicated Residential Support Worker to join their team in Cranleigh, Surrey. This role offers an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people with complex learning disabilities, severe social communication, and behavioural challenges. As a Residential Support Worker in Cranleigh, you will support young people within their residential houses, helping them develop essential life skills and interests. No prior experience is required, as full training and mentoring will be provided to ensure your success in this rewarding role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support young people with personal care, meal preparation, shopping, and money handling
- Assist with activities both on and off-site, including trips to the beach, safari parks, adventure parks, and more
- Work collaboratively with teachers and therapists to monitor and assess progress
- Help young people develop independence, social skills, and confidence
- Provide a safe environment, offering boundaries and choices, and implementing positive behaviour support when necessary
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to personalised care plans
Requirements:
- Compassion, enthusiasm, and empathy for vulnerable young people
- Mental, physical, and emotional resilience
- Willingness to provide personal care after full training
- Flexibility to work 37 hours per week in shifts, including weekends and sleep-in duties
- Own transport is desirable due to the semi-rural location
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
