Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Children's Support Worker to join a modern residential children’s home in Bodmin. This role involves supporting young people aged 8-16 years with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and challenging behaviours. If you are enthusiastic, resilient, and motivated to make a positive impact on young lives, this could be the perfect role for you. Working in a dynamic environment, you will help young people develop socially, emotionally, and behaviourally within a safe and caring setting. The role offers a rewarding experience for those passionate about supporting young people and making a difference.
Key Responsibilities:
- Encourage young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their own lives, appropriate to their age.
- Maintain a homely, friendly environment within the residential home.
- Deal with challenging behaviours safely and sympathetically.
- Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
- Support young people in promoting their independence and well-being.
- Ensure a safe environment and keep up-to-date with individual care plans, guidelines, and reward systems.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals involved in the young people’s lives.
Requirements:
- Experience as a Children's Support Worker or with young people is desirable but not essential.
- Experience within healthcare or social care settings is advantageous.
- Must hold a Full UK Driving Licence, as transportation of young people may be required.
- Must be over 21 years of age.
- Ability to commute to Bodmin.
