Job Description
Residential Support Worker (Children’s Home) opportunities are available with our client in Ramsgate, Kent. You’ll join a small, supportive team delivering a nurturing, person-centred approach for children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD), helping them build independence and achieve positive outcomes.
This is a varied, hands-on role in a friendly residential setting where resilience, patience, and strong safeguarding values are essential.
Key Responsibilities
As a Residential Support Worker (Children’s Home) based in Ramsgate, your daily duties will include:
- Supporting children and young people to make positive choices, develop healthy routines, and build independence within a structured care plan.
- Assisting with education and daily living, including school runs, appointments, activities, and household tasks in a residential home setting in Ramsgate.
- Maintaining accurate records and contributing to a safe, consistent environment that promotes welfare, growth, and development.
Requirements & Qualifications
To be successful as a Residential Support Worker (Children’s Home), you will need:
- NVQ Level 3 or Level 4 in Children’s Residential Care (required).
- At least 1 year’s experience in children’s residential care (preferred).
- Full UK Driving Licence (required) and ability to work varied shifts including sleep-ins.
- GCSE (or equivalent) at Level 2+ in numeracy and literacy.
- Fluent English, good IT skills, and strong communication skills.
- A professional, empathetic approach and a clear commitment to safeguarding.
- Pre-employment checks including Enhanced DBS, satisfactory references, and relevant safeguarding checks.
