Job Description:
Our client, a leading provider of residential care services in Exeter, is seeking a dedicated Residential Support Worker to join their team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support children and young people in a nurturing environment, promoting independence and positive development.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Residential Support Worker based in Exeter, your daily duties will include:
- Supporting children and young people to maximise their potential and develop life skills.
- Following individualised care plans and ensuring safety and engagement throughout the day.
- Promoting independence through verbal prompts and guidance, encouraging decision-making.
- Maintaining accurate records, including daily logs, handovers, medication administration, and incident reports.
- Responding appropriately to behavioural escalations in line with behaviour support plans.
- Ensuring a safe, clean, and supportive environment for all children and staff.
- Participating in shift work, including sleep-in duties, and adapting to flexible working hours.
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Residential Support Worker, you will need:
- A Level 2 NVQ in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification.
- Relevant experience in residential or care settings, ideally with children or young people.
- Up-to-date training in Positive Behaviour Support, Team Teach, and First Aid.
- A strong commitment to safeguarding, confidentiality, and promoting inclusion.
- Flexibility to work on a rolling rota, including sleep-in shifts.
- A full UK driving licence is desirable but not essential.
- The ability to work effectively with children and young people aged 16–18, supporting their independence and development.
