Job Overview

We are seeking a Residential Support Worker to join a dedicated team in a residential care setting for children and young people. This is a full-time, permanent position working 37 hours per week on a rota basis, which includes days, evenings, waking nights, and weekends. The role offers a competitive salary of £28,000 per year.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Lead and supervise a team of support staff during shifts, ensuring the smooth and effective operation of the service.

  • Provide guidance, support, and feedback to the team through regular supervision, fostering professional development.

  • Manage individual cases, ensuring that care plans are tailored and regularly reviewed to meet the evolving needs of each young person.

  • Contribute to the development of the service, bringing new ideas and initiatives to improve the quality of care provided.

  • Act as a key worker for one child, maintaining professional relationships with families and other professionals involved in their care.

 

Required Skills and Experience

  • A Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare or a recognised equivalent, or a willingness to work towards this.

  • Demonstrated experience in a leadership or shift-leading role within a residential care setting.

  • Flexibility to work a variety of shift patterns, including weekends and overnight shifts, as part of a rolling rota.

  • Strong experience and training in safeguarding procedures.

  • Proven ability to develop and implement tailored care plans.
