Job Overview

We are seeking a Residential Support Worker with senior experience to join a short-break residential centre in Oxfordshire. This is a full-time, permanent position working 37 hours per week with a competitive salary of £26,100 per year. The service provides care for children and young people with disabilities, including those with autism, complex health needs, and complex behaviour.

This role is for an experienced individual who can help create a safe and nurturing environment, ensuring the well-being of young people is prioritised through personalised care, guidance, and advocacy.

 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Serve in a senior capacity, supporting the Registered Manager, Service Coordinator, and Team Leaders to achieve positive outcomes for young people.

  • Provide lead case and care planning management, which includes assessing, reviewing, and managing risk.

  • Coordinate responsibilities within the service and with multi-agency partners.

  • Produce and analyse family information and create written reports.

  • Attend professional meetings, including reviews and court work.

  • Provide consistent and compassionate support to young people, maintaining emotional resilience during challenging situations.

 

Required Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrable experience working in a residential care setting and building positive relationships based on trust.

  • Proven ability to apply a range of techniques to coordinate and communicate with service users and their families.

  • A solution-focused approach to addressing problems, both individually and within a team.

  • The emotional resilience needed to respond to the challenging nature of the role.

  • A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) is essential, or a commitment to completing this qualification within two years of employment.
