Job Overview
Are you looking for a truly rewarding role where you can make a tangible difference every day? We are seeking dedicated, empathetic, and resilient individuals to join our residential care team. This role requires no previous experience, as we provide a comprehensive, fully funded training and mentoring programme to set you up for success.
You will support vulnerable children and young people with complex learning disabilities, severe social communication difficulties, and behavioral needs (including autism). Your support takes place within on-site residential houses outside of the school day, over weekends, and during school holidays—focusing on helping residents develop their interests, independence, and essential life skills for adulthood.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
-
Daily Life Support: Assist young people with day-to-day routines, including shopping, budgeting, and money-handling skills.
-
Meal Preparation: Guide and support residents to choose and prepare healthy meals.
-
Holistic Care: Provide personal care (following comprehensive training) to ensure all young people remain clean, comfortable, and dignified.
-
Community Engagement: Accompany and support young people during a wide variety of on-site activities and off-site recreational trips (e.g., adventure parks, beach visits, activity centers, and meals out).
-
Collaborative Monitoring: Work closely alongside teaching and therapeutic teams to assess, track, and monitor student progress.
-
Behavior Management: Learn and implement positive behavior support techniques, establishing clear boundaries and providing safe physical intervention if required.
Who We Are Looking For
-
Attributes: High levels of empathy, enthusiasm, and a genuine desire to support vulnerable young people.
-
Resilience: Strong mental, physical, and emotional resilience is essential to meet the dynamic demands of the role.
-
Flexibility: Willingness to work a varied shift pattern that includes weekends and school holiday periods.
-
Transport: Due to the semi-rural campus location, having your own transport is highly desirable.
-
Right to Work: Please note, we are unable to provide visa sponsorship for international applicants at this time.
Training, Support, and Career Progression
-
Paid Induction: You will complete a week-long, fully funded induction, including certified positive behavior support training, before commencing work.
-
Clear Career Path: After two years of service, a successful appraisal, and the completion of a funded Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, you will automatically progress to a Senior role with an increased salary bracket of £28,232 – £29,881.
-
Personalized CPD: Continuous professional development pathways backed by regular 1:1 line management support and mentoring.

-
On-Shift Perks: Free meals provided while on shift and ample free on-site parking.
-
Support Network: Internal access to Occupational Health and dedicated Mental Health First Aiders.
