Job Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Residential Support Worker to join a leading specialist provider in Hinckley, Leicestershire. This role offers the chance to work within a new, innovative children’s home that supports vulnerable young people aged 8-18 facing risks such as exploitation. As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing environment where children can develop confidence, independence, and social skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build trusting, nurturing relationships that promote independence and wellbeing
  • Work collaboratively with parents, carers, and professionals to support young people
  • Contribute to the upkeep of the home, including cooking and cleaning
  • Accurately document information and maintain up-to-date records
  • Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are strictly followed
  • Promote a safe environment at all times, responding appropriately to risks and concerns

Requirements:

  • Valid UK driving licence is essential
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or willingness to achieve within the required timeframe
  • Motivated by a desire to positively impact young people’s lives
  • Good understanding of safeguarding and protection of vulnerable children and young people
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including sleep-ins, weekends, and bank holidays
  • Relevant experience working with children and young people is desirable but not essential with the right attitude and willingness to learn
