Job Title: Responsible Individual for Children's Residential Home – Part-Time, Torquay

Location: Torquay, Devon, UK

Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 per year (pro-rata) / £350 - £550 per day

Job Description:
Are you an experienced Responsible Individual with a passion for making a difference in children's lives? We are seeking a dedicated professional to help us open and oversee a new children's residential home in Torquay. This part-time role offers the opportunity to lead a high-quality service, ensuring compliance and excellence from the outset. If you are committed to safeguarding and have a strong background in residential childcare management, this is an excellent chance to contribute to a meaningful project.

Key Responsibilities:

• Register as the Responsible Individual for the new children's home in Torquay.
• Ensure the service complies with all OFSTED standards and regulations.
• Lead the recruitment and development of a new staff team.
• Implement policies and procedures to support high-quality care.
• Provide direct line management to the Registered Manager.
• Take the lead on safeguarding and child welfare matters.
• Collaborate with the Director to ensure a successful opening and ongoing operation of the home.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Responsible Individual in a children's residential setting.
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
• Valid UK Driving Licence.
• Based in or near Torquay, with the ability to work one day a week on-site.
