Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Responsible Individual to oversee a children’s residential home in Newhaven, East Sussex. This leadership role involves ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, maintaining high standards of care, and fostering a culture of safeguarding and continuous improvement within the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Responsible Individual based in Newhaven, East Sussex, your daily duties will include:
- Ensuring full compliance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
- Overseeing safeguarding systems, regulatory notifications, and incident reporting.
- Providing strategic oversight and supervision of the Registered Manager to ensure high-quality care delivery.
- Supporting performance improvement, staffing, and recruitment practices.
- Acting as the primary governance representative during inspections and liaising with external agencies.
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Responsible Individual, you will need:
- Significant senior experience in children’s social care, preferably within residential settings.
- Strong knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Ofsted frameworks.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
- Proven safeguarding leadership experience and strong governance skills.
- Mandatory compliance with an Enhanced DBS Check and full UK driving licence.
