Responsible Individual (Part-Time) - Children's Residential Home
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 a year (pro rata) / £350 - £550 a day
Location: Torquay
Contract Type: Permanent, Part-Time (1-2 days a week)
Are you an experienced Responsible Individual with a passion for shaping a brand-new children's home? We are looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable professional to help us open and oversee a new residential service in Torquay.
About the Role:
This is a key part-time position where you will work closely with the Director to launch a new, high-quality children's home. You will be responsible for ensuring the service is fully compliant and ready for success from day one.
Key duties include:

Registration: Officially register as the Responsible Individual for the new children's home.

Compliance: Ensure the service is fit for purpose and meets all OFSTED guidelines and standards.

Leadership & Development: Lead the recruitment of a brand-new staff team and implement all necessary policies and procedures.

Management: Provide direct line management to the Registered Manager.

Safeguarding: Take the lead on all safeguarding matters, ensuring the welfare of every child is the top priority.

Strategic Support: Work alongside the Director to guide the successful opening and ongoing operation of the home.
Requirements:

Experience: Previous experience as a Responsible Individual is essential.

Qualifications: You must hold a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).

Licence: A valid UK Driving Licence.

Location: You must be based in or near Torquay and be able to commit to working one day a week on-site.
Compensation:
This role offers a highly competitive day rate of between £350 and £550, which is equivalent to a pro-rated salary of £50,000 to £55,000 a year.
