The Opportunity

We are actively recruiting for dynamic and knowledgeable Science Teachers to join secondary schools in the Swansea area. We are looking for educators who can make complex scientific concepts accessible and exciting, inspiring the next generation of scientists, engineers, and medics.

We have opportunities for:

  • General Science (KS3 & KS4): Delivering Biology, Chemistry, and Physics to GCSE level (WJEC specifications).

  • Subject Specialists (KS5): Teachers with a strong background in a specific discipline (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics) to teach A-Level (highly desirable).

  • Practical Learning: Leading engaging laboratory experiments that reinforce theoretical knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

  • Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the Curriculum for Wales and GCSE specifications.

  • Laboratory Safety: Conduct practical experiments safely, adhering strictly to COSHH regulations and CLEAPSS guidelines.

  • Differentiation: Adapt lessons to suit varying abilities, ensuring all students can access the scientific curriculum.

  • Assessment: Mark lab reports, homework, and mock exams, providing constructive feedback to improve student attainment.

  • Lab Management: Work collaboratively with Science Technicians to organize equipment and resources for practical sessions.

Requirements

  • Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.

  • Degree: A relevant degree in a Science-related subject (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or General Science).

  • Experience: Experience teaching Science within the UK curriculum up to KS4.

  • Registration: Must be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) as a School Teacher.

  • Compliance: An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (Vetro can assist with a new application if required).
