Job Title: Science Teacher

Salary: £173.00 per day (minimum)
Job Description:
An established educational provider is seeking an experienced and dedicated Science Teacher to join a secondary school in Merthyr Tydfil. This full-time, long-term role offers an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to make a positive impact on students in Key Stage 3 and 4, including GCSE classes. The successful Science Teacher will be expected to start immediately and contribute to the school’s academic excellence until at least the end of the summer term 2026, with potential for ongoing employment from September.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead engaging lessons for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students, including GCSE classes.
- Prepare classrooms and plan schemes of work aligned with the national curriculum.
- Deliver both classroom and lab-based activities to stimulate student interest.
- Manage behaviour effectively in accordance with school policies.
- Support learners’ progress through tailored teaching approaches.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive learning environment.
Requirements:
- At least 1 year of Science teaching experience (exceptions for NQTs).
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status or overseas equivalent.
- Registration as a Teacher with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
- References covering the last two years (no gaps).
- Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
- Right to work in the UK.
