Job Description
An established educational provider in Pontypool, South Wales, is seeking a dedicated Science Teacher to join their welcoming secondary school. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4 within a supportive and high-achieving Science department. The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons that foster curiosity and understanding in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics.

Key Responsibilities
As a Science Teacher based in Pontypool, your daily duties will include:

• Planning and delivering engaging Science lessons across KS3 and KS4
• Developing pupils' knowledge and understanding of Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
• Inspiring, challenging, and supporting pupils to reach their academic potential
• Assessing and monitoring pupil progress, providing constructive feedback
• Maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment through effective management
• Differentiating teaching strategies to support pupils with additional learning needs
• Collaborating with colleagues to develop resources and share best practices
• Supporting the delivery and development of the Curriculum for Wales
• Promoting safe working practices during practical Science lessons

Requirements & Qualifications
To be successful as a Science Teacher in Pontypool, you will need:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
• Experience teaching Science at secondary school level, including placements
• Strong subject knowledge across KS3 and KS4
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills
• Good understanding of the Curriculum for Wales
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
