Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and dedicated RE Teacher to join a secondary school in Aberdare. This full-time, long-term role is ideal for a passionate educator who can quickly integrate into the school's RE team and make a positive impact. The position involves teaching Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students, including GCSE classes, with an immediate start and the potential to continue until the end of the summer term 2024.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Religious Education (RE) Teacher based in Aberdare, your daily duties will include:
- Leading engaging lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
- Preparing classrooms and planning schemes of work aligned with the national curriculum.
- Delivering interactive lessons using classroom and lab-based activities to motivate learners.
- Managing behaviour in accordance with the school’s policies to create a positive learning environment.
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Religious Education (RE) Teacher, you will need:
- At least 1 year of RE teaching experience (exceptions for NQTs).
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status or overseas equivalent.
- Registration as a teacher with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) – assistance available.
- References covering the last two years with no gaps.
- Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
- Right to work in the UK.
