Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Secondary Teaching Assistant to join our education team at a leading specialist provider.

The ideal candidate will support children with autism and complex learning needs across all key stages, working closely with teachers to foster a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support classroom activities and educational programs for pupils with autism and complex needs
  • Assist teachers in managing pupil behaviour and promoting positive interactions
  • Establish and maintain strong, supportive relationships with pupils, acting as a role model
  • Respond to individual needs and adapt practice to support diverse learning requirements
  • Contribute to creating a safe, caring, and inclusive environment for all students

Requirements:

  • Resilience and the ability to support vulnerable children with emotional and behavioural difficulties
  • Strong communication skills to effectively engage with pupils and team members
  • Excellent organisational skills to support educational activities and classroom management
  • Compassionate and caring nature, with a genuine desire to support young people's development
  • Attentiveness to individual needs and the ability to adapt to changing situations
