Job Description
We are recruiting a Secondary Teaching Assistant to join a supportive specialist education setting in the Wirral, Merseyside. This is a brilliant opportunity to make a real difference to young people in Key Stages 3 and 4, working alongside an experienced team focused on inclusion, wellbeing and progress.

You’ll support pupils with a range of additional learning needs, helping to create a calm, safe and engaging learning environment where every young person can thrive.

Key Responsibilities
As a Secondary Teaching Assistant based in the Wirral, your daily duties will include:

• Supporting pupils’ learning in and out of the classroom, adapting activities to meet individual needs
• Promoting positive behaviour, emotional regulation and independence using consistent, restorative approaches
• Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff to implement support strategies, small-group interventions and pupil plans

Requirements & Qualifications
To be successful as a Secondary Teaching Assistant, you will need:

• Experience supporting children/young people in a school or specialist education setting (SEND exposure is highly desirable)
• A strong understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries when working with young people
• Enhanced DBS Check (or willingness to complete one) and eligibility to work in the UK
