The SEN Teaching Assistant role in Swansea offers a full-time, long-term, permanent position supporting young people aged 4-19 with autism and additional learning needs. Key Responsibilities:
- Support and supervise educational games, sports, and craft activities
- Assist children with reading and other core subjects
- Prepare the classroom for lessons and create engaging displays of children’s work
- Work with pupils in small groups and/or provide 1:1 support for children with additional needs
- Support teachers in managing class behaviour effectively
- Facilitate group activities and promote a positive learning environment
Requirements:
- Experience and understanding of supporting young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs
- Previous school experience, ideally within an SEN setting
- References covering the last two years (no employment gaps)
- A current DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one
- The Right to Work in the UK
