Job Description:

Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs? We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a leading SEN school in Newport, Wales. This full-time, long-term role offers an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact in an inclusive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide general classroom support to facilitate effective learning for students with special educational needs
  • Work closely with the Class Teacher to develop and implement tailored support strategies
  • Create a positive, inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and confidence
  • Assist with the monitoring and assessment of student progress
  • Support students with behavioural and learning challenges to ensure their success
  • Prepare resources and assist in maintaining a safe and welcoming classroom atmosphere

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children in an educational setting, ideally supporting SEN students
  • Strong communication and team collaboration skills
  • Passionate about fostering inclusive education and supporting diverse learning needs
  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support (desirable)
  • Ability to commit to a full-time schedule, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm
