Job Description:
Our client, a leading specialist provider, is seeking experienced and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join a special school in Pentre, Rhondda Cynon Taf. The SEN Teaching Assistant role offers an excellent opportunity to support learners with additional needs, including ASD (autism spectrum disorder) and Global Delay. The SEN Teaching Assistant position in Pentre provides flexible working hours, weekly pay, and a supportive environment to develop your skills within the education sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and supervise learners with ASD, PDA, Global Delay, or challenging behaviour
- Assist learners at the start and end of the school day
- Help staff prepare classrooms for lessons
- Work with learners in small groups or on a 1:1 basis
- Support the class teacher in delivering lessons
- Assist learners during break times and with lunchtime routines
- Engage learners in classroom and out-of-classroom activities
- Follow the school's behaviour management policies
Requirements:
- At least 3 months of experience working with children in schools, nurseries, or childcare settings (experience within an SEN setting is beneficial)
- Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) – support available to help with registration
- Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
- References covering the last two years (with no gaps)
- Right to work in the UK
