Job Description:
Are you passionate about supporting children with learning disabilities to achieve greater independence? An award-winning school in Lostsock Hall is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children aged 4-11 with autistic spectrum conditions and complex needs. The SEN Teaching Assistant will work closely with students, assisting in their educational journey and supporting their individual needs in a nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the class teacher in delivering tailored educational activities for children with learning disabilities.
- Assist children with autistic spectrum conditions and complex needs to access the curriculum effectively.
- Help with picking up and dropping off children from residential services to and from school.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment for all students.
- Monitor and record student progress, reporting any concerns to the teaching staff.
Requirements:
- A genuine desire to create positive outcomes for children with learning disabilities.
- Empathetic, caring, and resilient personality.
- Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Previous experience working with children with special educational needs is desirable but not essential.
