Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Caerphilly, Wales
Salary: £93.00 per day (DOE)
Job Description:
Are you an experienced and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role in Caerphilly? Our client, a leading specialist provider, is seeking passionate SEN Teaching Assistants to support learners with diverse needs, including ASD, PDA, PMLD, Global Delay Disorder, and challenging behaviour. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a supportive setting, with flexible hours and a variety of roles across primary, secondary, and SEN sectors in Caerphilly and surrounding areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and supervise learners with ASD, PDA, PMLD, Global Delay Disorder, or challenging behaviour
- Assist learners at the start and end of the school day
- Help prepare classrooms for lessons and support staff in lesson delivery
- Work with learners in small groups or on a 1:1 basis to meet their individual needs
- Support learners during break times and lunchtime
- Engage learners with classroom and out-of-classroom activities
- Follow the school's behaviour management policies and promote positive behaviour
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 months experience working with children in schools, nurseries, or childcare settings; SEN experience is beneficial
- Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) (support available)
- Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
- References covering the last two years (no gaps)
- Right to work in the UK
