Job Description:
SEN Teaching Assistant opportunities are available in Caerphilly, supporting learners within a specialist school setting. Working with a leading specialist education provider, you’ll help children and young people with a range of additional learning needs to thrive in a structured, supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant based in Caerphilly, your daily duties will include:

Supporting and supervising learners with ASD, PDA, PMLD, Global Delay Disorder, and challenging behaviour
Assisting learners at the start and end of the school day to ensure safe, calm transitions
Preparing classrooms for lessons and supporting teaching staff with lesson delivery
Working with learners in small groups or 1:1 to meet individual learning and care needs
Supporting learners during break times and lunchtimes, promoting inclusion and engagement
Encouraging participation in classroom and out-of-classroom activities
Following behaviour management policies and promoting positive behaviour within the Caerphilly school environment

Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will need:

Minimum 3 months’ experience working with children in schools, nurseries, or childcare settings (SEN experience is beneficial)
Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration (support available)
Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one
References covering the last two years (no gaps)
Right to work in the UK
