Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Primary Teaching Assistant to join a supportive team within a primary school located in Ebbw Vale, Blaenau Gwent. This full-time role offers an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact on young learners, particularly within the special educational needs (SEN) sector, in a nurturing educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Primary Teaching Assistant based in Ebbw Vale, your daily duties will include:
- Providing high-quality classroom support to pupils, ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Working closely with the class teacher to deliver tailored support that meets individual pupil needs
- Assisting in the planning and implementation of learning activities and classroom routines
- Supporting students with SEN to promote their social and academic development
- Helping to maintain a safe, welcoming, and well-organised classroom environment
- Supporting the inclusion of all pupils, fostering independence and confidence
- Assisting with personal care responsibilities
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will need:
- Previous experience working with children, ideally within a primary or SEN setting
- Strong communication and teamworking skills
- Competence with personal care
- A caring, patient, and proactive attitude
- Enhanced DBS check or willingness to undergo one
- Flexibility to work full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 3:30 pm
