Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Merthyr Tydfil, Wales
Salary: £92.59 per day (DOE)

Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a leading specialist provider in Merthyr Tydfil. This role is ideal for dedicated professionals passionate about supporting learners with special educational needs, including ASD, PDA, PMLD, Global Delay Disorder, and challenging behaviour. As a SEN Teaching Assistant in Merthyr Tydfil, you will play a vital role in creating a positive learning environment and supporting children with diverse needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support and supervise learners with ASD, PDA, PMLD, Global Delay Disorder, or challenging behaviour
• Assist learners at the start and end of the school day
• Help staff prepare classrooms for lessons and activities
• Work with learners in small groups or on a 1:1 basis to support their individual needs
• Support the delivery of lessons alongside the class teacher
• Assist learners during break times and lunchtime
• Engage learners with classroom and out-of-classroom activities
• Follow the school's behaviour management policies

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 months experience working with children in schools, nurseries, or childcare settings; SEN experience is beneficial
• Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC); support available for registration
• Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
• Right to work in the UK
