About the Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for working closely with class teachers and SENCOs to support the learning and development of individual pupils and small groups with diverse Special Educational Needs. You'll provide tailored assistance during classroom activities, ensuring all students can access the curriculum, and help to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where every child feels valued and understood. Whether you're looking for one day a week, a full five-day schedule, or ad-hoc shifts, we can tailor work requirements to suit your needs and lifestyle. Key Requirements:

To be considered for this vital role, you will need:

  • Proven experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a classroom or similar educational setting.

  • A professional with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly in building rapport with pupils with SEN.

  • An adaptable and resilient individual who is patient, empathetic, and proactive.

  • A strong communicator with the ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

  • A proactive approach to ensuring a positive and accessible learning experience for all students.

  • A relevant qualification in childcare, education, or SEN support would be highly advantageous.

  • A fully enhanced DBS (on the Update Service) – we can assist with obtaining a new one if needed.

  • References covering the last two years with no unexplained gaps.

  • The Right to Work in the UK.
