Job Title: Male SEN Teaching Assistant

Salary: £92.59 per day (DOE)
Job Description:
A leading specialist provider is seeking an experienced and dedicated Male SEN Teaching Assistant to join a special school in Aberdare. This full-time role offers an excellent opportunity to support learners with ASD, PDA, Global Delay Disorder, and challenging behaviour. If you are passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of children with additional needs, this is an ideal position for you. The role starts in February 2026 and continues for the remainder of the 2025-2026 academic year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and supervise learners with ASD, PDA, Global Delay Disorder, or challenging behaviour
- Assist learners at the start and end of the school day
- Help staff prepare classrooms for lessons
- Work with learners in small groups or on a 1:1 basis
- Support the delivery of lessons alongside the class teacher
- Assist learners during break times and lunchtime
- Engage learners in classroom and out-of-classroom activities
- Follow the school's behaviour management policies
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 months experience working with children in schools, nurseries, or childcare settings; SEN experience is beneficial
- Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) (support available)
- Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
- References covering the last two years (no gaps)
- Right to work in the UK
