Job Title: Male SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Aberdare, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales
Salary: £88.92 per day minimum
Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and experienced Male SEN Teaching Assistant to join a special school in Aberdare. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about supporting learners with special educational needs, including ASD, PDA, Global Delay Disorder, and challenging behaviour. The successful candidate will play a vital role in creating a positive learning environment and supporting children with additional needs throughout the academic year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and supervise learners with ASD, PDA, Global Delay Disorder, or challenging behaviour
- Assist learners at the start and end of the school day
- Help prepare classrooms for lessons and support staff in lesson delivery
- Work with learners in small groups or on a 1:1 basis
- Support learners during break times and lunchtime
- Engage learners with classroom and out-of-classroom activities
- Follow the school's behaviour management policies
Requirements:
- At least 3 months of experience working with children in schools, nurseries, or childcare settings; SEN experience preferred
- Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC); assistance available for registration
- Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
- References covering the last two years (no gaps)
- Right to work in the UK
