Job Title: Male SEN Teaching Assistant

Salary: £92.59 per day (DOE)
Job Description:
Our client, a leading specialist provider, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Male SEN Teaching Assistant to join a special school in Aberdare. This full-time position offers a rewarding opportunity to support learners with additional needs, including ASD, PDA, Global Delay Disorder, and challenging behaviour. If you are passionate about making a positive impact on children's lives and have experience working with SEN pupils, this role in Aberdare is ideal for you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and supervise learners with ASD, PDA, Global Delay Disorder, or challenging behaviour
- Assist learners at the start and end of the school day
- Help staff prepare classrooms for lessons
- Work with learners in small groups or on a 1:1 basis
- Support the delivery of lessons alongside the class teacher
- Assist learners during break times and lunchtimes
- Engage learners in classroom and out-of-classroom activities
- Follow the school's behaviour management policies
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 months experience working with children in schools, nurseries, or childcare settings; SEN experience is beneficial
- Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) (support available)
- Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
- References covering the last two years (no gaps)
- Right to work in the UK
