Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team to work in Primary Schools across Liverpool. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support teaching and learning within Key Stage 1 & Key Stage 2, working closely with teachers and pupils to foster an inclusive and positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Learning Support Assistant based in Liverpool, your daily duties will include:
- Supporting the delivery of high-quality learning activities in English and maths for pupils in Key Stage 1 & 2.
- Providing tailored support for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), ensuring they can access the curriculum effectively.
- Assisting with behaviour management and promoting positive behaviour across the classroom.
- Contributing to the overall wellbeing and pastoral support of pupils, fostering a safe and nurturing environment.
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Learning Support Assistant, you will need:
- Experience working with children in a school or educational setting (experience supporting pupils with SEND is highly desirable).
- Strong communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills.
- High expectations for pupil achievement, inclusion, and behaviour.
- Confidence supporting learning in English and maths.
- Flexibility, resilience, and a patient, positive attitude.
- A commitment to the values, vision, and ethos of Garston CE Primary School and the Trust.
- Full eligibility to work in the UK and the ability to undergo a full enhanced DBS check (visas cannot be sponsored).
