Job Title: Learning Support Assistant
Job Description:
We are seeking three dedicated Learning Support Assistants to join a new specialist school within Liverpool. This role offers the opportunity to work within a bespoke environment designed to support children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and complex communication and interaction difficulties. As part of the founding team, you will collaborate closely with the Specialist Base Teacher to develop inclusive practices and support the developmental needs of our youngest learners.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Learning Support Assistant based in Liverpool, your daily duties will include:
- Delivering high-quality, practical support tailored to EYFS and KS1 learners, focusing on communication, sensory regulation, and social-emotional development.
- Implementing targeted learning and behaviour plans under the guidance of the Specialist Lead, utilising strategies such as TEACCH, PECS, or Attention Autism.
- Working collaboratively with a team of four LSAs to maintain a calm, structured, and positive environment.
- Building trusting relationships with parents and supporting external professionals, including Speech & Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists, during targeted sessions.
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Learning Support Assistant, you will need:
- An NVQ Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent qualification.
- Experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly ASC or communication difficulties.
- Mandatory compliance with Enhanced DBS checks and eligibility to work in the UK.
