Job Description:
Our client, a leading secondary school in Liverpool, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEND Learning Support Assistant to join their supportive team.
This rewarding role involves working closely with students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including pupils with Autism/ASC, to help them access learning and achieve their EHCP outcomes. The successful candidate will play a vital role in promoting positive behaviour and supporting students both on a one-to-one basis and within small groups.
Key Responsibilities:
As a SEND Learning Support Assistant based in Liverpool, your daily duties will include:
- Supporting students with SEND, particularly Autism/ASC, to access the curriculum and participate fully in lessons.
- Delivering targeted interventions and personalised support to help students achieve their EHCP goals.
- Promoting positive behaviour and creating an inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborating with teachers and the SEND team to plan and implement effective support strategies.
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a SEND Learning Support Assistant, you will need:
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
- Experience supporting students with SEND, particularly Autism/ASC.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- A strong commitment to inclusion and helping every student reach their potential.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a supportive school environment.
- Full UK driving licence and eligibility to work in the UK.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
