Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for passionate and dedicated support workers to join a leading specialist provider supporting children and young people in a Children’s Home. This full-time, permanent role is based in Truro and offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young individuals facing social, emotional, and mental health challenges. Key Responsibilities:
- Encourage young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their own lives, appropriate to their age.
- Maintain a homely, friendly, and supportive environment within the home.
- Manage challenging behaviours with patience and professionalism.
- Provide personal care when necessary, supporting independence and well-being.
- Ensure a safe environment for all service users, adhering to care plans and guidelines.
- Support individuals with complex needs, including those with ADHD, Autism (ASD), or mild learning disabilities.
- Promote positive behaviour and support individuals in developing life skills.
- Keep up-to-date with individual care plans, reward systems, and preferred communication methods.
Requirements:
- Experience working as an adult support worker or in a similar setting is essential.
- NVQ or QCF Level 3 in Adult Social Care is essential.
- A genuine passion for supporting people and making a difference.
- Must hold a valid driver’s licence, as travel between sites may be required.
- Must be over 18 years of age.
- Ability to deliver an integrated approach to care and support individuals with complex needs.
