Job Title: Senior Support Worker – Children’s Residential
Location: Stevenage
Salary: £32,995 to £38,990 ( Inclusive of sleep in's)
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Senior Support Worker to join a leading specialist provider in Stevenage. The Senior Support Worker – Children’s Residential will play a vital role in caring for young people with complex emotional needs, providing a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment. The Senior Support Worker – Children’s Residential will work closely with the team to promote development and well-being, ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support a team to deliver therapeutic care tailored to each child's needs
- Promote positive development and emotional well-being of young people in care
- Record observations, progress reports, and contribute to care planning
- Act as a positive role model, fostering trusting relationships with children and colleagues
- Support the Service Manager in maintaining high-quality care standards
- Manage daily operations, including shift supervision and sleep-ins
- Ensure compliance with all safeguarding and health & safety policies
Requirements:
- Minimum of 12 months’ experience working in children’s residential care
- Level 3 qualification in residential childcare or equivalent
- Knowledge of child-centred, therapeutic models of care
- Excellent communication skills, caring, flexible, and resilient
- Ability to work shifts, including sleep-ins, with full-time and part-time hours available
- Full UK Driving Licence is essential
- Passionate about delivering high-quality care and supporting young people’s development
