Job Title: Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker
Location: Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, UK
Salary: £33,927 to £38,200 (inclusive of sleep-in allowances)
Are you an experienced Children’s Residential Care worker ready to take the next step in your career? Or are you already a senior support worker seeking a new challenge? A leading provider of children’s residential services in Wisbech is looking for a dedicated Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker to join their team. In this role, you will support the manager in the daily operation of a home that cares for young people aged 10 to 16 with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). You will play a vital part in delivering high-quality care, leading by example, and fostering a positive, nurturing environment for the young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead by example and support the management team to run the shift effectively
- Mentor and support newer staff members
- Encourage young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their lives, depending on their age
- Maintain a homely, friendly environment within the home
- Manage challenging behaviours safely and sympathetically
- Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare
- Support young people in promoting their independence and well-being
- Ensure a safe environment and up-to-date knowledge of individual care plans and guidelines
- Develop good working relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals
Requirements:
- NVQ or QCF Level 3 in Children and Young People (essential)
- Experience working in a residential children’s home (essential)
- Full driving licence and access to a car (essential) as transportation may be required
