Salary: £36,862 - £38,662 per annum (inclusive of sleep-ins; approx. 7 per month)
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent (shift work, including some weekends)
Job Description:
We are recruiting a Senior Support Worker (Residential Children’s Home) to join a specialist children’s residential setting in Gloucester, Gloucestershire. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity supporting children and young people with complex emotional and behavioural needs, helping to create a safe, structured, and nurturing home environment.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Support Worker (Residential Children’s Home) based in Gloucester, your daily duties will include:
- Supporting children and young people to feel safe, valued, and cared for within a therapeutic residential setting in Gloucester
- Building positive, trusting relationships with children, families, and external professionals
- Promoting emotional regulation and positive behaviour using trauma-informed and therapeutic care strategies
- Maintaining accurate records and reports using IT systems
- Leading shifts and supporting the day-to-day running of the home, including guiding and role-modelling best practice for colleagues
- Supporting the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager to develop a reflective, supportive team culture
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Senior Support Worker (Residential Children’s Home), you will need:
- Full UK Driving Licence (manual) held for at least 12 months
- At least 1 year’s experience supporting children and young people affected by trauma and/or complex behaviours
- Ability and commitment to work within a safeguarding and trauma-informed environment
- Willingness to work shift patterns, including weekends
- Desirable: Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) (or working towards)
