Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced, resilient, and nurturing Senior Support Worker to join our family home in Liverpool. This role involves caring for young people with severe learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs, some of whom are non-verbal. You will play a vital part in providing encouragement, patience, and understanding to support positive outcomes for the children in your care.
As a Senior Support Worker based in Liverpool, your daily duties will include:
- Providing personalised support and personal care tailored to each child's needs.
- Leading and supporting a team to deliver therapeutic care and support for young people.
- Recording observations, progress reports, and assisting in the development and implementation of care plans.
- Acting as a positive role model, fostering trusting relationships, and promoting positive development.
- Supporting the team in creating a safe, nurturing environment that encourages recovery and growth.
To be successful as a Senior Support Worker, you will need:
- A minimum of 12 months' children's home experience.
- A Level 3 qualification in residential childcare recognised in your hourly pay rate.
- Experience or knowledge of child-centred, therapeutic models.
- Good communication skills in English; Makaton or BSL experience is beneficial.
- Flexibility, resilience, and a caring nature to work shifts and sleep-ins.
- A full UK driving licence is advantageous.
