We are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate Senior Support Workers to join a leading specialist provider of children's residential care in Truro, Cornwall. This full-time, permanent role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a warm and supportive environment dedicated to helping vulnerable young people thrive.
As a Senior Support Worker in this children’s home in Truro, Cornwall, your key responsibilities will include:
- Encouraging children and young people to participate in activities and develop independence based on their age and individual needs
- Maintaining a homely, friendly, and positive environment in the residential home in Truro, Cornwall
- Managing challenging behaviours with professionalism and sensitivity
- Providing personal care and support tailored to each child's care plan
- Promoting safety and well-being for all service users in the Truro-based home
- Ensuring up-to-date knowledge of individual care plans, reward systems, and communication preferences
- Supporting children with complex needs, including those with Autism (ASD), ADHD, or mild learning disabilities
- Assisting young people to build life skills and emotional resilience
Requirements:
- Proven experience working as a Support Worker in a children’s or adult social care setting, ideally in a residential environment in Truro, Cornwall
- NVQ or QCF Level 3 in Children’s or Adult Social Care (or equivalent)
- A genuine passion for supporting and empowering vulnerable children and young people in Truro, Cornwall
- Full UK driving license and ability to travel between sites in Truro, Cornwall during shifts
- Over the age of 18 and eligible to work in the UK
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to support individuals with complex needs in Truro, Cornwall
