Job Description:
Are you a dedicated residential care worker ready to advance your career, or an experienced Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker seeking a new challenge? A leading specialist provider of children’s residential services is looking for a committed Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker to join their team in Tadley.
In this role, you will support the manager in delivering high-quality care to young people aged 8 to 16 with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people while developing your leadership skills within a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the management team in running the residential service effectively
- Mentor and support less experienced staff members
- Encourage young people to participate in activities and develop independence
- Maintain a safe, homely environment that promotes well-being
- Handle challenging behaviours with empathy and professionalism
- Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare
- Develop positive relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals
- Ensure compliance with individual care plans and safety guidelines
Requirements:
- NVQ or QCF Level 3 in Children and Young People (essential)
- Experience working in a residential children’s home environment (essential)
- Full driving licence and access to a car (essential) for transporting young people
- Ability to deliver holistic, person-centred care for young people with EBD
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Passion for supporting young people to lead happy and successful lives
