Job Description:
Are you an experienced residential care worker ready to take the next step in your career? We are seeking a dedicated Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker to join a leading provider of children’s residential services in Rotherham. This role offers an excellent opportunity to support young people aged 8 to 16 with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), helping them lead happier, more successful lives. As a Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker, you will assist in the day-to-day management of the service, ensuring the highest standards of care and support are maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead by example and support the management team in running shifts effectively
- Mentor and support less experienced staff members
- Encourage young people to participate in activities and develop independence
- Maintain a warm, welcoming, and safe environment within the home
- Manage challenging behaviours with empathy and professionalism
- Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare
- Support young people’s well-being and promote their independence
- Develop and sustain positive relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals
Requirements:
- NVQ or QCF Level 3 in Children and Young People (ESSENTIAL)
- Experience working in a residential children’s home environment (ESSENTIAL)
- Full driving licence and access to a car (ESSENTIAL) for transporting young people
- Ability to deliver holistic, person-centred care for young people with EBD
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
