A leading specialist provider of children’s residential services is offering an exciting opportunity for a Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker in Warrington. In this role, you will support the manager in the daily operations of a nurturing and professional environment that caters to young people aged 8 to 16 with EBD.

The Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker will play a vital part in maintaining a safe, supportive, and engaging environment, ensuring the well-being and development of the children in your care.

Location: Warrington
Salary: £32,090 to £36,313.60 inclusive of sleep in's
Shifts: Long day shifts and sleep-ins 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead by example and support the management team in shift operations
  • Mentor and support new staff members
  • Encourage young people to participate in activities and develop responsibility
  • Maintain a homely, friendly environment within the residential home
  • Manage challenging behaviours with empathy and professionalism
  • Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare
  • Support the children’s independence and overall well-being
  • Ensure a safe environment and keep up-to-date with individual care plans and guidelines
  • Develop positive relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals

Requirements:

  • NVQ or QCF Level 3 in Children and Young People (essential)
  • Experience working in a residential children’s home environment (essential)
  • Full driving licence and access to a car (essential) for transporting children
  • Ability to deliver holistic, integrated care for children with EBD
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
