Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker

Our client is a leading organisation dedicated to supporting children and adolescents aged 10–16 with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). They are committed to delivering exceptional care in a nurturing environment, inspiring young people to achieve their full potential.
Role Overview:
As a Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker, you will assist the management team in day-to-day operations, ensuring high standards of care and safety. You will play a vital leadership role, mentoring new staff and promoting a positive, homely environment where children feel valued and supported.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead by example and support the management team during shifts
- Mentor and support less experienced staff members
- Encourage children to participate in activities and develop independence
- Maintain a warm, welcoming, and homely environment
- Effectively manage challenging behaviours with patience and professionalism
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all young people
- Foster positive relationships with children, staff, families, social workers, and other professionals
- Keep up-to-date with individual care plans and promote best practices
What We’re Looking For:
- NVQ or QCF Level 3 in Children and Young People (ESSENTIAL)
- Proven experience working in a children’s residential setting (ESSENTIAL)
- Full UK Driving License and access to a vehicle (ESSENTIAL) for transporting children as needed
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to handle challenging behaviours with empathy and tact
- Genuine passion for making a difference in young people's lives
