Job Title: Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker

Salary: £35,741 - £37,936 (including sleep allowance) + overtime opportunities

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker to join a leading specialist provider of children’s residential services in a picturesque rural setting in Warminster. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional eager to support young people aged 8–18 through compassionate leadership and high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the management team in the daily operation of a therapeutic residential home for young people with EBD.
- Lead by example, providing mentorship and guidance to less experienced staff members.
- Encourage young people to engage in activities, develop independence, and take responsibility for their growth.
- Maintain a warm, welcoming, and safe environment that fosters positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
- Manage challenging behaviours with confidence, empathy, and consistency.
- Ensure the safety and welfare of children and young people at all times.
- Support young people's individual care plans, respecting their preferences and needs.
- Build strong relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and external professionals such as psychologists.
- Promote a caregiving culture focused on respect, support, and development.
Requirements:
- NVQ or QCF Level 3 in Children and Young People (ESSENTIAL)
- Significant experience working within a residential children’s home environment (ESSENTIAL)
- Full UK Driving License and own transport are ESSENTIAL, as the role may involve transporting young people
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism and compassion
- Commitment to providing holistic, child-centred care
